Healthier Spring Make At Home Coffee & Protein Drinks

Just last week I mentioned healthy options for ordering food away from home. One item you won’t see me order in my Instagram stories is a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake.

I’m not saying you can’t order one. And I’m not saying I won’t. What I AM saying is that as a person who is sharing how to make healthier choices, I won’t recommend ordering one. Just a small has 20 teaspoons of sugar! And even though I like the idea of a shamrock shake, I know that much sugar is a recipe for gut rot.

But dang it if targeted advertising hasn’t caught on to how much I love a mint shake! And if it hasn’t caught on to you yet, be careful, because reading this blog post might sic the algorithm on you too!

Okay. Enough of that imagery. We’re going to need something cold and green STAT! I have just the recipe with my healthier Sisterhood Shamrock Protein Shake.

Sisterhood Shamrock Protein Shake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 scoops vanilla protein powder (I used Quest brand)

  • 1/8 tsp mint extract (more or less depending on your preference)

  • 1 tbsp sugar free pistachio dry pudding mix

  • Ice

  • Toppings (optional): low-fat cool-whip & green sprinkles

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients into a blender. Cover and blend until smooth.

  2. Pour into glasses and top with low-fat cool-whip and sprinkles - these toppings are of course optional!

Now you, lucky girl, can have a mint shake any time of year. Take that, scarcity mindset!

This isn’t my only make-at-home healthy drink recipe I’m sharing this week. It’s not even my only green one! (Iced matcha with strawberry cold foam, anybody?) There are five more springtime coffee (cold brew with salted caramel cold foam?) and protein shake (strawberry cheesecake protein shake?) drink recipes in this week’s freebie. Click the link below for your document sent right to your email!

And while we’re talking about green things, how about saving some green? Have you noticed how much $$$ you save by making healthier food choices? I think a lot of people think healthier food is expensive, but I save a ton of money prepping food at home instead of eating out. I have a health and wealth feature in the works, so check back on the blog next week.
