I’m so proud of you for frickin’ CRUSHING YOUR GOALS.

I love to reward myself when I reach a goal. Whether it’s logging my meals in My Fitness Pal for the whole week or reaching a new distance on my run or getting to a new number of members in our Sisterhood group, I celebrate my hard work with a reward.

Rewards celebrate your progress and give you an opportunity to say “HELL YES! I DID IT!”

When working with my Drop 10 students on their goals, I like to help women find ways to reward themselves that don’t involve food or drink. Sometimes we fall into the habit of saying “I’m exhausted, it’s ok to have a few glasses of wine to relax” or “I worked so hard on that project today, I deserve a bowl of ice cream.”

And while there is nothing wrong with doing this occasionally, it can lead to habitually treating ourselves to food rewards which turn into a “rewards-based” mentality with all our food.

Instead of rewarding with food, my goal for my Sweat Inspire Sisterhood members is for them to see food as fuel and rewards as other treats: a bubble bath, a luxurious massage, a rest day, a new pair of shoes.

For me personally, I have a rewards system as a pursue big goals. I have a progress roadmap (available in the download below!) that helps me break down my big goal into smaller actions. Then along the way to this big goal I reward myself as I reach milestones: a new tee from my friend Mariah, a new Hydrojug water bottle, the new Nike design that caught my eye. Then when I reach my big goal, oh man, do I give myself something good! Ideally, a vacation, but a lash treatment or trip to the nail salon works too!

How do you treat yourself, girl? Tell me in the comments section!
