6 Healthier Tailgating Recipes

Welcome fall and the return of football season!

I don’t think you even have to care about sports to love this season of chilly Friday night lights, Saturday college town tailgating, and cozy Sunday afternoons with friends and family.

So. While you are NOT dieting, but instead making food you actually love every day that HAPPENS to be good FOR you and TO you, why not try some of these healthier tailgate food options?

Naan bread is the star this week. It is so good and it’s gotten to be really easy to find even in small-town grocery stores. I’m using it as an appetizer pizza crust.


Fruit Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 Flat-out Protein Up Carb Down flatbread OR naan bread

  • 1 ounce light cream cheese

  • 1/2 tablespoon honey

  • 1/2 tablespoon low-fat vanilla Greek yogurt

  • 1/4 cup strawberries, sliced

  • 1/8 cup blueberries

  • 1/8 cup blackberries

  • 1/4 kiwi, sliced

  • 1/4 banana, sliced

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, beat together cream cheese, honey, and yogurt. Spread mixture evenly onto flatbread.

  2. Top with fruit in any design that you would like. Cut flatbread into quarters, and serve.
